H.U.E. Lofts
H.U.E. Lofts is a luxury high-rise currently under construction at 300 East Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas. This building is a project of real estate developer Eddie Haddad, who has made in a name for himself in the past 15 years he has been in business.
The location of H.U.E. is right in the heart of what is being called The Art Center of Las Vegas, which is a redevelopment project in itself. The area encompasses 61 acres and includes the new Performing Arts Center, a $150 million masterpiece that will be one of the major attractions for the city. Residents of H.U.E. will be able to experience this hub of cultural, educational and artistic energy first hand.
The name H.U.E. is inspired by the location of the building. Because of the close proximity of the artistic community, Haddad says he wanted the name to incorporate that aspect. Ideas tossed around included colors and even the word "canvas." But Haddad came up with the catch phrase of "high-rise, urban and experimental," thus giving birth to H.U.E.
Haddad wanted the design of H.U.E. to reflect that artistic feel as well. RNL Design was hired to make that ideal a reality, and the result was what the developer calls "articulated design." This is defined as the building having twenty-seven corners that enable the lofts to have varied views of the surrounding natural beauty. Because of that feature, it's almost as though each of the lofts come with their own private and unique artwork, just outside and framed by the incredible windows. And to top it off, the loft windows are framed on the exterior by shutters that are designed to angle bright sunlight away from the interior of the homes, reducing cooling costs.
H.U.E. will stand 400 feet tall and have 38 stories. The 278 loft condos inside the building are something of a work of art themselves, with luxury amenities and modern design details. The entire building will top out at 500,000 square feet. The first floor of H.U.E. is designated for a 10,000 square foot art gallery. This is another tie-in with the Art Center location. Works produced by both well known national and up and coming regional artists will be displayed. In addition to that, there will also be displays in the building hallways that will change on a regular schedule. The roof top deck will also host similar displays from local talent, providing a constant source of artistic exposure for both the featured artists on display and the residents of the building who get a first hand look at their work.
Building amenities at H.U.E. are what you would expect from a luxury high-rise. The roof top sun deck contains a swimming pool and Jacuzzi. A clubhouse will also be located there and have a large fully equipped restaurant quality kitchen where residents can schedule a party and book the services of a local gourmet chef.
Other roof top features include a full gym and track, making it convenient for residents to keep up with an exercise program. H.U.E. is pet friendly and there is a green space over the garage parking area where residents can take their pets and spend some walking or playing. The building has its own movie theater for residents and their guests. Valet service is also provided.
The individual lofts have all been pre-wired for surround sound, multiple phone lines and WiFi service. Every unit has its own private terrace overlooking the incredible Las Vegas skyline. Hardwood floors, fully equipped kitchens and lavish baths and master bedrooms are standard in these homes, along with state of the art security systems, smoke and carbon detection.
Most of the lofts are designed to be two stories. This amount of room makes it possible to have twenty foot high ceilings and windows, creating a feeling of spaciousness. The mountains are visible on the horizon and the glitter of the Strip lights up the nighttime sky. Floor plans and loft sizes come in several varieties, with from 800 to 1,200 square feet of living space. Prices for these homes start in the $450,000 range and increase up to around $900,000. The finish date for H.U.E. is tentatively scheduled for late 2007 or early 2008.
