   For many years, the Las Vegas Country Club was the most prestigious address in the Las Vegas valley. Although growth has moved outward from the center of the city, this upscale neighborhood remains a popular residence for celebrities, sports figures, business leaders and politicians.
   Located just behind the Las Vegas Hilton on Joe W. Brown Drive, the elite gated community is less than a mile from the famed Las Vegas Strip. But behind its protective gates lies a lush paradise of grass, trees and a private 18-hole golf course.
   The country club was once the site of the Las Vegas Downs racetrack. A golf course was built on the property on 1967, and luxury homes developed around the fairways over the next few years.
